William is a handmade wooden pen holder / pencil cup that I turned on my lathe. I retained bark from the log (with some lichen still attached). There is a knot in the center of this bark which even is visible in the grain on the back of the cup.
This handmade wooden pen holder / pencil cup measures 4-1/4″ tall and 3-3/8″ wide at the base with a depth of approximately 3-3/8″. I finished the wood with high friction polish, and all color and texture changes are natural.
Care instructions for the wood are included with the purchase of this piece.

A little about me….
I’m a historical archaeologist and spend my days excavating sites, analyzing artifacts, and writing up my findings. When I’m not in the field, you’ll find me in my woodshop. I primarily use found and reclaimed wood from here in Central Kentucky. It’s my hope that incorporating elements of the wood as I found it into each piece serves as a reminder that the object you see once was part of a beautiful, living tree.
