Trent is a walnut wood plate that I hand turned on my lathe. For this piece I used sustainably sourced wood from right here in Bourbon County, Kentucky. A small sliver of sapwood is visible on the edge of one side of the plate.
This walnut wood plate measures 8″ in diameter and 3/4″ tall. I polished the dish with Terra Nova NaturOil which is FDA approved, kosher, environmentally friendly, non-toxic, free of dyes, perfumes, and nut oils that can cause allergic reactions, and protects against drying, cracking, and water damage. I followed this with a coat of beeswax for added protection. Additionally, care instructions are included with the purchase of this piece.

A little about me….
I’m a historical archaeologist and spend my days excavating sites, analyzing artifacts, and writing up my findings. When I’m not in the field, you’ll find me in my woodshop. I primarily use found and reclaimed wood from here in Central Kentucky. It’s my hope that incorporating elements of the wood as I found it into each piece serves as a reminder that the object you see once was part of a beautiful, living tree.
