GRACE
Grace is a handmade wooden bowl that I turned from rainbow tulip poplar hand turned wood sustainably sourced in nearby Franklin County, Kentucky.
“Rainbow Poplar” is yellow poplar that was stained by prolonged exposure to minerals that leech into the wood, causing a wide range of colors to form. This occurs when a log lays on the ground in just the right environment for just the right amount of time, making it a pretty rare occurrence.
The bowl measures 5-3/4″ wide, 1-7/8″ tall, and 1-1/2″ deep. I finished with Terra Nova NaturOil followed by a coating of beeswax which I apply for added protection. Care instructions are included with the purchase of this handmade wooden bowl.

A little about me….
I’m a historical archaeologist and spend my days excavating sites, analyzing artifacts, and writing up my findings. When I’m not in the field, you’ll find me in my woodshop. I primarily use found and reclaimed wood from here in Central Kentucky. It’s my hope that incorporating elements of the wood as I found it into each piece serves as a reminder that the object you see once was part of a beautiful, living tree.
