DYLAN is an extra large round wood tray hand turned from spalted rainbow tulip poplar. For this piece, I used wood responsibly sourced in nearby Franklin County, Kentucky. Worm holes are visible on on both sides of the platter as are natural cracks and ingrown bark.
This large round wood tray is 21″ in diameter and 2-1/2″ tall with a depth of approximately 1-5/8″. I polished it with Terra Nova NaturOil which is food safe, FDA approved, kosher, environmentally friendly, non-toxic, free of dyes, perfumes, and nut oils that can cause allergic reactions, and protects against drying, cracking, and water damage. Additionally, I applied a coating of beeswax for added protection. Care instructions are included with the purchase of this piece.

A little about me….
I’m a historical archaeologist and spend my days excavating sites, analyzing artifacts, and writing up my findings. When I’m not in the field, you’ll find me in my woodshop. I primarily use found and reclaimed wood from here in Central Kentucky. It’s my hope that incorporating elements of the wood as I found it into each piece serves as a reminder that the object you see once was part of a beautiful, living tree.
