DESKTOP SPIN STATION
Inspired by my beloved skirted bowl shapes, this desktop spin station is hand turned from walnut wood responsibly sourced right here in Bourbon County, Kentucky. The storage area around the perimeter is best suited for 1″ to 1.3″ tops.
I polished the wood with food safe walnut oil followed by carnauba and beeswax to provide a durable finish and rich luster. I designed the spin station to hold a 100mm double concave glass optical lens with a 300mm focal length and 10mm thickness.

A little about me….
I’m a historical archaeologist and spend my days excavating sites, analyzing artifacts, and writing up my findings. When I’m not in the field, you’ll find me in my woodshop. I primarily use found and reclaimed wood from here in Central Kentucky. It’s my hope that incorporating elements of the wood as I found it into each piece serves as a reminder that the object you see once was part of a beautiful, living tree.
